Shortly after I turned seventeen I deactivated the previous tumblr account I had for two years. There were too many bad memories typed out, displayed for all to see. Digging through the archive did nothing but revived bad experiences and putrid thoughts. I am done with my past and I am moving on to better things. Here’s to a new start, a fresh beginning.
Independence is the most essential factor I seek out in a relationship. Some couples become so attached to each other that they lose their identity. I understand that it’s vital to grow with your significant other, but to grow as an individual is my first priority. I want a relationship where we can do our own thing. Everything has to be 50/50- no more no less. Bottom line, I want a partner. Not a hero, not a sidekick, but someone who matches up to me. Someone just as independent as I am.
Nothing compares to having someone who loves you as much as you love them, who expects nothing from you but tries to give you everything they humanly possibly can, and accepts all your flaws that even you can’t accept.
First impression
You shift your eyes inch by inch, trailing down my head to my toes. You proceed the ‘up and down stare’ in slow motion, multiple times with a countenance exuding faint disapproval. As if I didn’t notice.
My mom surprised me with a tiny laptop on Mother’s Day, but I’m the one who’s supposed to be treating her. Why is she so sweet?!
Your true colors are showing, but I didn’t ask to see anything beyond your clean surface. I would rather not take a glimpse at your ugly insides. I put so much effort into convincing myself that you do not disgust me, but you do.
I hate it when people generalize and put down others who are different from them.
Examples:
- Ugly people assuming that pretty people are shallow
- Nerds believing that jocks are idiots
- Poor people labeling rich people as spoiled brats
- Prudes thinking that non- virgins are sluts
- Men presuming that they are superior to women
People who make assumptions based on such vague labels need to evolve.
Apologize all you want
Whether you blow up my phone with ‘I’m sorry’ messages or leave me alone to cool off, it won’t make a difference. There are over 6 billion people in this world. I am not wasting anymore time on you.
